Director of Business Development

Position Overview:

As Director of Business Development at DocuPhase, you will be responsible for leading a team of Business Development Representatives (BDRs). You will continually increase their individual and team performance through recruiting, coaching, training and systematically growing the team’s capabilities to maximize achievement. It’s fun to achieve goals; but, it’s absolutely amazing to lead high-performing teams that continually knock it out of the ballpark.

The ideal candidate is a person who has not just built their own successful track record in a SaaS sales and marketing environment; but one who has made the conscious choice to positively influence others’ careers.

You have a strong grasp on Account Based Marketing (ABM) and understand the role that business development plays for lead qualification and generation. You are a highly effective coach and leader. You are an excellent judge of character, astute in managing challenging goals, coaching to process and methodology and you have a track record in helping others succeed.

This role has direct management responsibilities over a team of business development representatives but will also work on campaigns alongside the team in a “player/coach” model.

As Director of Business Development, you will...

  • Analyze prospects needs and uncover business challenges 
  • Articulate business value of our solutions to new business prospects 
  • Manage lead transition and follow up activity that ensures a positive outcome for the client and sales teams 
  • Report market trends to sales, product management, marketing, and management teams 
  • Generate highly qualified leads that produce new sales opportunities 
  • Partner with our Sales teams to prioritize and select accounts to target 
  • Effectively communicate with C-level and VP-level Executives to address business needs 
  • Continuously maintain and update Salesforce.com 
  • Leverage a wide range of sales tools 
  • Set and maintain daily activity including follow up calls, emails, and LinkedIn posts and messages. 
  • Work with Leadership to ensure weekly, monthly, and quarterly quota is attained 

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of inside sales or business development experience 
  • Strong cold calling and qualification skills 
  • Experience and confidence in prospecting and communicating with senior-level executives 
  • SalesLoft experience is a plus 
  • Confident and polished phone, email, and digital channels prospecting skills
